Try MyWhoosh first if you want a virtual world with events and racing and do not want to pay. MyWhoosh’s own FAQ says it is currently a free-to-play cycling app. Choose another app if you want plan-driven training with adaptive workouts (TrainerRoad) or you specifically need Zwift’s community.
What is free and what is not
There is no membership fee. MyWhoosh describes an optional subscription that increases “slot credits”, which let you keep more custom workouts and training plans; its price was not on the pages we read. Cosmetic items such as wheelsets are earned or bought through its season system. So the catch is not a paywall on riding: it is limits on saved workouts and plans, and the option to spend on cosmetics.
What the vendor lists
MyWhoosh’s site lists a workout builder and workout import on the website, event series such as Sunday Race Club qualifiers and Apex Racing, virtual routes and worlds, and apps for iOS, Android, macOS and PC, plus Apple TV per its update notes. Independent coverage exists (for example Cyclingnews and Cycling Weekly); we used them only to confirm the free-to-play model, and did not copy their opinions.
