On 29 September 2026 the Ride V2 bundle was $1,299.99 on Zwift’s US store; US retailers listed the SHIFT at $2,549.99, a gap of $1,250.00. Zwift’s page lists compatibility with Zwift and ROUVY only, while Wahoo lists five apps for the SHIFT (Zwift, ROUVY, TrainingPeaks, MyWhoosh, KinoMap) besides its own Wahoo app.

Two adjustments run in opposite directions. The Ride includes flat pedals and the SHIFT does not, so a SHIFT buyer must add pedals (we did not price them). And because Zwift charges $199.99 a year, a three-year Zwift plan is $599.97 on either bike, so app cost does not change the gap. What reviewers said
- Zwift Ride. DC Rainmaker (Jun 2024) reviewed the original Ride and found the trainer inside is the CORE 2 he had already tested, so did not repeat accuracy tests; his concern was lock-in. Cycling Weekly (Oct 2024, seven months of use) called it simple and good value but noted the fixed crank and Zwift focus. V2’s five crank lengths address the crank point; the reviews we read cover the original bike.
- KICKR BIKE SHIFT. DC Rainmaker (Jun 2024) reports launch firmware caused inconsistent accuracy, then mostly 1 to 3 W from pedals from about mid-to-late November. PezCycling News (Jan 2024) rode it in SYSTM, Zwift, Rouvy and BKOOL, found the belt drive quiet and the fit range wide.
The reviews do not put the two bikes head to head, and none of them measured the Ride V2. Both bikes’ accuracy findings come from launch-era testing: the Ride’s trainer, the CORE 2, tracked reference meters within a couple of watts in BikeRadar’s test, and road.cc logged connectivity problems (see the CORE 2 review).
Which to buy
- Pick the Ride if you ride only in Zwift or ROUVY, want the lowest price and the best-stocked fit range (146-198 cm, 120 kg), and want handlebar controls built in.
- Pick the SHIFT if you want to use an app the Ride’s page does not list (Wahoo names TrainingPeaks, MyWhoosh and Kinomap besides Zwift and ROUVY), value the higher claimed power and accuracy, or want programmable gearing that matches a Shimano, SRAM or Campagnolo layout.
- Skip the SHIFT if you are outside 152-193 cm or above 113 kg; the Ride’s ranges are wider (146-198 cm, 120 kg). Skip both if you already own a bike you like: a trainer is cheaper.
